The Green Room - 07.04.2007
By Sal Loria

THE IRREDEEMABLE ANT-MAN #10
Robert Kirkman (W)/Phil Hester (A)

THE LEAN, GREEN SUMMARY

  • After the Hulk’s ship arrives, Ant-Man, Visioneer and Monstro witness the broadcast signaling the return of ol’ Jade Jaws and his ultimatum.
  • Visioneer elects to find her son and evacuate the city like the rest of the people, whereas Monstro and Ant-Man plan to stay and fight (and possibly loot).
  • Going over their plans on how to deal with the Hulk, Monstro and Ant-Man are interrupted by the Hulk himself. Monstro is wounded in the process, leaving Ant-Man on his own.
  • Shrinking down in size, Ant-Man enters the Hulk’s mouth and travels to his stomach to attack from within. Realizing that he’s not making a dent, Ant-Man gives up and exits the Hulk with looting on his mind.
  • Once outside, Ant-Man becomes sandwiched between the Hulk and Iron Man, as they hurtle through Avengers Tower. Thoroughly beaten, Ant-Man passes out from the injuries he’s sustained, and is out of the fight.

SAY THAT TO HIS FACE

Questioning the Hulk’s attire is one thing, but even Ant-Man knows enough not to do it directly to his face. Then again, his costume is a cross between an ant and a vending machine, so what does he know?

YES, IT’S THAT GOOD

Amidst a high-level threat, the Black Fox stumbles across an unguarded Nintendo Wii in Ant-Man’s apartment. What’s a video game junkie to do?

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST CLUE?

On one side is the Hulk: enormous and full of rage. On the other side is Ant-Man: tiny and full of himself. Does Ant-Man’s charge mean he’s turning a new leaf with this heroic (suicidal) jump? Nah.
