Jamal Igle, currently working on Tangent: Superman's Reign, sounds off on lateness in the comic industry and a certain Star-Spangled Avenger he's put on his wish list...

1) A fan has never enjoyed your work, what would you recommend to them?

Well, to get a full dose, I'd recommend the Firestorm: Reborn trade paperback. You could also pick up Nightwing: Love and War trade paperback as well.

2) If you weren't a comic creator, you'd be?

I'd probably would either open a comic shop or a resteraunt, something hands on.

3) What's at the top of your comic pile these days?

Action Comics, Nightwing, Final Crisis, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Ultimate Spider-Man.

4) Everyone has a pet peeve in comics, what's yours?

Lateness. There used to be a time when being able to draw a monthly was the norm, not the exception. I pride myself on the fact that I don't miss deadlines and while it occasionally means getting 4 hours of sleep a night, I know it's part of the job.

5) Your dream project: you, with which character(s), and which artist or writer?

Now that I'm working on the Superman books, I have to think about it. There are books I'd love to work on; The Flash, Robin and JLA pop into my mind, but there are things outside of DC I'd love to do. I'd love to do a Captain America story with Ed Brubaker. There are so many good writers out there it's hard to nail it down to one or two dream creators.
